David was born on June 8, 1987, in Columbus, Georgia. His passion for soccer ignited at the tender age of four, leading him to join the Red Stars, a competitive traveling soccer team, by the age of ten. Throughout high school, he showcased his talent, earning the distinguished titles of Alabama All-State for Soccer, Star Student, and Page One Award winner for Technology during his senior year.
After high school, David attended Auburn University for a year and a half, further enriching his life with education and new experiences.
On April 10, 2012, he married Amanda, which marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together.
An avid practitioner of Muay Thai, David found strength and discipline in the martial art. He trained rigorously, mastering the techniques and philosophies that underpin this ancient sport. His dedication to Muay Thai not only enhanced his physical abilities but also instilled in him a profound sense of respect for discipline and perseverance. David participated in local competitions, showcasing his skills and determination, while also building a community of fellow martial artists who shared his passion.
His expertise in martial arts led him to Washington State, where he trained Air Force pilots in self-defense prior to his enlistment in the Marine Corps. David’s martial arts knowledge allowed him to impart valuable skills to others, reflecting his commitment to service and excellence.
David’s commitment to service became evident when he joined the Marine Corps on September 27, 2012. He graduated from boot camp at Parris Island in December 2012 and dedicated himself to the role of a helicopter mechanic. As he advanced to the rank of Sergeant, David was stationed in San Diego for three years, where he not only honed his skills but also took on the responsibility of instructing others in helicopter mechanics. He later returned to Camp New River as a Staff Sergeant, where he was assigned to a logistics unit. David’s aptitude with computers was remarkable, and he approached every task with unwavering dedication and commitment.
David’s life was marked by his passion for soccer, his dedication to service, his love for family, and his pursuit of excellence in everything he undertook. He will be remembered for his unwavering spirit and the positive impact he made on those around him.
David passed on January 11, 2024. He is survived by his wife, four sons, parents, grandmother, sister and brother in-law, three cousins, one aunt, three uncles as well as a number of extended family members. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
